Five spice braised pork belly


1 kg pork belly
7 cloves garlic
1 pack seasoning
3 spoons chicken powder
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp cooking wine

1- Marinade the pork with soy and garlic. For hot water in a small bowl with the bags of spices, then add them to the pork.
2- While simmering the pork belly, prepare the tofu and shitake mushrooms
3- With the left over soy, add water and make the soup stock. I cook my tofu and mushrooms in the pot too with low heat. Pour the stock to the pot where you simmer the pork belly, don't let it dry out. Simmer until you reach the texture you like, chewy or soft to your liking. Then add the tofu and mushrooms in the pot to absorb the thick sauce. Plate up and enjoy with steam rice or congee.
